The exclusive binding contract Disney and Electronic Arts as to the exclusive development of the games Star wars officially ended last year, allowing other studios to offer their adaptations of the cult saga. Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have a role play in development, Aspyr Media preparing a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Hunters will be released next year on Switch and mobiles thanks to Zynga, and even EA has ongoing projects.
And if we are to believe the rumors of the last few days, at least one other known industry team has a video game Star wars on the fire. It would be Quantic Dream, the French company whose partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment ended and is now developing cross-platform titles. The information was initially delivered by Gautoz, former journalist of Gamekult converted back to streamer, before being teased by Tom Henderson, known for his leaks on the series Battlefield and Call of Duty, and also editor for DualShockers. The latter also reports that this game Star wars would be in development for about 18 months, i.e. early 2020.
Pending confirmation of Quantic Dream, all this obviously remains to be taken with a few tweezers. The idea of a narrative adventure game in a galaxy far, far away, would it appeal to you? If you haven’t made the studio’s latest game yet, you can get hold of Detroit: Become Human for € 37.14 on Amazon.com.
